Till Nowak is a digital artist, designer and filmmaker, born 1980.
Based in Hamburg, Germany, he is working for creative agencies,
film productions, and independent projects since 1999.

His work has been exhibited in hundreds of international
film festivals, featured at SIGGRAPH 2006 and 2007 and
was awarded with more than 35 first prizes, for example in
Annecy or at the AFI Fest Hollywood.

Besides his studio work Till has given lectures about his workflows in international events, for example at Universities in Korea, Australia or at the NIFFF in Neuchatel and worked as jury member in various film festivals.
 

MERCEDES GLK
MOTION DESIGN

In 2008 Till Nowak developed a series of motion designs for the Mercedes-Benz GLK online campaign.
The animations are based on real camera footage and included in five short documentary movies. Each scene is related to a statement within the documentaries, here you see the examples for the data explosion created by a security crash test, and an example for the complexity of understanding a car and all its technology.
The five documentaries are directed by Jan Litzinger and produced by FischerAppelt tv media.

"EDGES" VIDEOINSTALLATION

"Edges" is a computer driven light installation of different animations projected on the geometry of a room. The concept makes the geometry and architecture dominate the projection. The projection serves the underlying structure, it's like dancing with the architecture.

"THE SHAVED BUMBLEBEE"

It was one of these boring days and the bumblebees were as usual looking for some nonsense to get involved in and
succeeded in switching on an electric shaver. And Bernard, for the first time in his life, completely freed
himself from his beautiful yellow and black fur.

"SALAD"

In November 2006 Till created digital vegetable models and combined them to become a tribute to the fantastic biomechanical creations of H.R. Giger and the vegetable portraits of Giuseppe Arcimboldo. "Salad" is a purely educational and non-commercial work.

"DELIVERY"

Delivery is an animated shortfilm written and produced by Till Nowak. The fantastic story about
an old man and the mysterious box has been screened at more than 150 filmfestivals worldwide
and won more than 30 international awards. "Delivery" is now also available on DVD.

HIMALAYA ANIMATIONS

In September/October 2006 Till Nowak created 11 animations in full HDTV resolution (1920x1080) for a documentary in 2 episodes about expeditions to the
highest mountains of the Himalaya.

"TOFU"

"TOFU" is an animation rendered in 4000px width. Simulated physical forces are influencing 5000 digital cubes.
The 3D space becomes the canves on which the forces work like a brush using the cubes as their ink.

In March 2008 Till Nowak created various aircraft interior designs for SCHOTT AG to be used as demo environment for SCHOTT's glass and lighting solutions.

"SOUVENIRS"

SOUVENIRS is an experimental video produced in 2007 by Till Nowak and his brother Nik Nowak, with the help of two friends, Ivan Robles Mendoza and Tobias Hofer. It deals with
the impression of weird commercial presentation videos for toys Nik experienced during his time in China.
